There have been different opinions and views on what Ghosts are. The dictionary explanation of a ghost is: “apparition of dead person or animal, disembodied spirit, emaciated or pale person; shadow or semblance, secondary or duplicate image". Not all ghosts can interact with our surroundings. They can not communicate or interact with objects. Some Ghosts are residual energies. Ghosts that gain psychic energy appear as real and as solid as a person of flesh and blood. Some appear in full daylight, and are seen by numerous persons at the same time, or on numerous occasions. More rarely they interact with others, talking and even laughing with them, or touching them. However, they are a spirit who has not moved on

Spirit is the name given to a person who has died in this physical world and passed into the spirit world, our loved ones and friends. A discarnate being who can and does interact and communicate with the physical world. Unlike ghosts which are associated with buildings or areas, spirit can freely move around our environment. Communication with spirit takes place in a similar way as ghost energy is perceived, but unlike with ghost energy, communication is taking place, names are given, messages received, and information pertaining to persons present is relayed. All this is achieved through clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience.

(Another means of letting u know they are around is by smell, flowers, perfume, tobacco, etc.)

You can also sense Spirits Presence, for example you may feel that something is in the room or feel you are being watched when no one is there.

Poltergeist is a mischievous spirit it can interact with our environment, causing doors to be opened, objects to be moved. This can sometimes be attributed with a person who has died in the physical but has not chosen to move over into the spirit world. This is their choice, as they are aware of their passing, this may be due to them wanting to be with their loved ones still upon the earth, or for some unfinished buissness.

Anniversary Ghosts

Anniversary ghosts do, as the title suggests, only appear on an anniversary of some significance – deaths, birthdays and other times that held some meaning for the deceased or are of historical significance.

Like the residual ghost, they may be re-enacting a certain event in time on that one day or night.

 Poltergeist (Intelligent)

Intelligent hauntings are interactive, sometimes verging into the territory of the poltergeist. These entities are playful, sometimes inquisitive and occasionally dangerous. Studies have shown these ghosts can only manifest in the physical world if they channel their energy through a human host. This is usually a child or adolescent. Poltergeists usually choose to remain invisable and like to conduct their antics in broad day light or in front of an audience.

Maritime Ghosts.

What about the sea not just the land there have been many stories and sighting by sailors in the navy stating of ghosts vessels of all eras including vikingboats, to the Spanish Armada

The most famous sighting occured in july 1881 The Flying Dutchman. There have also been Aeroplanes were people have reported to seeing them.

Ghost of Battlefields

There have also been reports on the famous Battle of Edgehill in Warwickshire.

Animal Ghosts,

Our pets,ect, and then there is The Ghost of the old shuck the phantom hound said to be an omen of misfortune and death. These ghouls are not even considered to be Spirits of dogs but rather some type of demon. They are ususally larger than normal black dogs and the most notorious of all is Old shuck. He is as big as a calf, huge fiery yellow eyes that glow in the dark. Anyone who encounters Old Shuck is destined to die within a year of that date. This creature inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
